Essex Earns First Ever 260℃ Listing From UL

Essex Group, Inc., is proud to announce it has received the first-ever 260℃ Listing for EnduroTemp™ 260+ from UL, a leading global safety science company that sets industry standards for safety compliance.

Essex’s EnduroTemp™ 260+ is a thin, enamel film insulated magnet wire that can extend the life of electrical devices in critical applications and increase power density to minimize equipment size and weight.

·      It has been specifically designed to withstand higher operating temperatures with an industry best Thermal Index of 265℃, per ASTM D2307, Standard Test Method for Thermal Endurance of Film-Insulated Magnet Wire.

·      The product is resistant to Partial Discharge, extending the life of the motor winding insulation system against deterioration potentially caused by modern power electronics.

·      The superior Hydrolysis resistance of the product makes it a great fit for the Oil & Gas industry.

·      The Thermal Conductivity has been tested per ASTM D5470-17 @ 150°C and proven to be among the highest in the industry, allowing designers to extract heat more efficiently and reduce component size.

·      The abrasion resistance is far better than standard Polyimide enameled magnet wire making it easier to wind and more resistant to damage.

Applications that can benefit from the advantages this product provides include: Automotive, Aviation/Aerospace, Military/Defense, Oil & Gas and Transportation or again, any critical applications that can benefit from increased operating temperature or power density to minimize equipment size and weight.

As an example, development work is currently being done in ventilation systems for all types of tunnels for toxic fumes extraction where electric motors must survive extremely high ambient temperatures.
